Welcome To The Paradise Theater!

On this day in 1981, an album hit our music stores. From a band based in Chicago. A concept album called Paradise Theater. Thank you STYX! Lets re-invest in this album that to this day is still their only #1 album. And it was a really good one.

I was lucky enough to be an intern at a Chicago radio station called 105.9 WCKG. And one summer we got to return to the Paradise Theater. The band reunited for the Return To Paradise tour in 1996. Kansas was the opening act of the tour and I was lucky enough to be given tickets to this show at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont IL. This concert was recorded for a double album, that is still available. To this day, still one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

So many songs from this album were on the set list. Rockin The Paradise, The Best of Times, Too Much Time On My Hands, and Snowblind. And this band was at the top of their game. The only song that I missed hearing was Mr Roboto. Other than that, they hit the mark and I left very impressed by this band. From my home state. They are really good and their place in rock and roll history is secure.

The website Ultimate Classic Rock wrote a nice article about this album and its anniversary and the link is HERE. And I encourage you if you are a fan of classic rock music, re-invest in listening to this album. It is worth it.
