Super Bowl Is Set. Who You Got?

Well this years Super Bowl matchup is set. Tom Brady will be going to his 10th Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes will be trying to win back to back Super Bowl trophy's. The Old Guard vs The New Guard. Who you got? I know who I am rooting for.

In the history of football, Tom Brady may go down as the GOAT. 6 rings counts for something. There was a lot of luck along the way. The Tuck Rule. The fact that he had Bill Belichick as his coach. He always played in a really bad division for a long time, so his team got to beat up on really bad teams. I would argue that if he was in the division with the Steelers and the Ravens every season, or had to battle the AFC West he would not have had as many home games in the playoffs. And there is more.

He lost to the Giants twice in the big game. He had to rely on the utter stupidity of the Falcons to not run the ball and kick a field goal. Or the Seahawks to not run Marshawn Lynch from the 1 yard line. And Adam Vinatieri won two of those Super Bowls. But a win is a win. But for me, I will take Joe Montana as the best in the clutch, and 4-0 in Super Bowls with no interceptions. Brady never had a dominate team. And I believe he cheated in Deflategate, as did the Pats. People do not hate them because they are good, they hate them because many believe they cheated and did some deceptive things.

Patrick Mahomes right now, is playing on another level than any other QB before. That offense, that arm, and mobility. If he stays healthy, he could shatter every QB record in NFL history. A long way from 6 rings, but his talent and the team around him, they could be something special. I really hope they can keep the core together. So exciting to watch. Andy Reid has been such a great coach for so long, and to finally get a ring last year and a chance to get a second one, would put him up there with some of the legends of the game. If the defense can hold down the Bucs offense, at least a little bit, I believe the Chiefs can repeat. Mahomes is a once in a generational player. And to get two rings so young, the skies the limit.

This Super Bowl could be a changing of the guard in the NFL. Brady, the decorated veteran, and Mahomes, the young upstart. It will be a close game, as I think the Bucs defense can give the Chiefs problems. If somehow Brady wins, that will give him 7 rings. In football that is just plain crazy. But if he loses, many will be thrilled, and we could see the rise of the next greatest QB of all time. Patrick has a long way to go, and this game could be a litmus test. Lets see what happens. Chiefs are favored by 3. They are my pick to repeat. It will be a fun game to watch. And I hope at the end, Patrick Mahomes is standing tall with Andy Reid. They were the best team in the regular season. Now let's finish it with a ring, on Tom Brady's home field.
